      Hard to pick one really.

I like Alan Turing because he basically gave us the modern computer.

I also like Grace Hopper who gave us the first compiled programming language (it was called COBOL). Because of Grace Hopper, it was possible to create my favourite languages; C and C++. They were created by Dennis Richie, Ken Thompson and Bjarne Stroustrup who are all pretty cool guys.

You can’t really talk about programming languages without mentioning Ada Lovelace who is credited with being the first programmer ever! She was basically a mathematician who came up with an idea for a machine that could accept instructions.

Linus Torvalds and Richard Stallman gave us the Linux operating system, which is what I use on all my computers.

Richard Feynman was a pretty cool physicist (maybe a little too cool).

So yeah. There are loads of interesting scientists who are worth learning about.
