We live in the era of data and computers, with scientists collecting massive amounts of information to analyse and use in a multitude of ways. Data can be gathered from all sorts of place, for example social media, or information from satellites in space. But what do they do with it all?
One scientist in this zone helps to improve the quality of systems like Google translate, another is teaching computers to read historical documents and another is working on new technologies in machine translation. There is also a scientist building machine translation systems, and another analysing data from translated texts to find improvements.
