That is a very difficult question to answer because it depends on so many things. Basically, life evolves depending on the external environmental factors as well as the dependencies of organisms in one group. But it is always driven by the desire of survival and reproduction.

Let’s imagine that in 5 000 000 years the sun shines just a bit stronger, the ozone layer gets thinner and the atmosphere has more pollution particles. Then logically the temperature on the Earth would increase. Let’s imagine it increases with 10 degrees Celsius, so when now is 20 then it would be 30. That would first require animals to cool their bodies much faster and retain much less fat. So, I would imagine animals to get longer and thinner.

Also given the fact that the ozone layer will be much thinner, more ultraviolet light will pass through. So animals would need to get a darker pigmentation on their skin to be protected by the dangerous rays.

Next, the fauna (that is, plants) will also change which would further require animals to adapt so they can get enough food. I guess their jaws and stomach would change.

Probably there will be much more changes in the animal look, which I don’t know at the moment. We will wait and see đŸ™‚ maybe some body will invent a time machine and we can go and see the animals 5 million years in the future.
