Are you asking about our planet? If yes, I think there are two possibilities.
First one is because of humans. And here there are two different scenarios I see. One scenario is that we will be caught up in a world war that will lead to the destruction of our planet or the life on it. That most probably would be triggered by the globalisation that is happening where people can communicate with every point on Earth and move every where they want and because some people try to enforce their culture and their view of life without respecting others. The other scenario is because the population of the world is growing very fast at some point there will be so many people and not enough food. This would create a conflict between people that can afford food and people that cannot which one way or another would lead to destroying the world.
However, I think that people have shown many times that when they have a common problem, they find a common solution and probably we will evade these negative scenarios.
The second possibility of destruction is from space. And by space I don’t mean aliens but more a natural disaster. For example, in the universe there are planets that do not orbit around stars (as the Earth goes around the Sun – our star), but fly freely through space. These planets are called rogue planets and are typically very large. If a planet like this passes nearby our Earth and our solar system, it may cause huge problems in the way all planets spin and orbit around the sun. This in turns could either lead to the Earth moving further or closer to the sun (and its environment changes so much that it cannot support life anymore) or it can be struck by another celestial body – an asteroid, a planet or a satellite.
Luckily, there are people in NASA and ESA and other space agencies that are monitoring the sky day and night and will notify us if something is about to happen.
