I had no idea how to answer this question. It is really not my area. But I searched for it and what I got was:

who invented slime: Slime was a toy product manufactured by Mattel, sold in a plastic trash can and introduced in February 1976. It consisted of a non-toxic viscous, squishy and oozy green or other colour material made primarily from guar gum.

how does PVA glue react to contact lens solution: Sorry, I didn’t find an answer for this, so maybe you could ask for one of the scientists at the New Materials Zone?!
But apparently they are both safe to use and PVA glue is better than Elmer’s glue for making slime.

      Hope it helps!
