Question: would you recommend biology for leaving cert

I am not a biologist but what I have to say is, if you like it, do it. You don’t need to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life right now! NO! People change and we are allowed to change our minds as we grow up! If you do biology now because you like it then next year you decide that you don’t, you change it =)

When I started college, my degree was to become a teacher. SO I studied linguistics, sociolinguistics, languages, Latin, English literature, Brazilian literature, Portuguese literature and so many other things. I did become a teacher for a while but after some time I decided that I need something else! So I went for a master’s degree in natural langauge processing and completely fell in love with machine translation! Now, I cannot think of myself doing anything else.

So In summary, becks, my friend, you have your whole life to decide what you wanna be. If right now you *need* to make a choice, choose something you like. If tomorrow you change your mind, that’s okay. Don’t feel pressured too much. Life is short and we’re humans, we can change our minds – for better!- always =)
