I would love to be able to do that. Unfortunately that is not really my area.
But by working with computers and languages we can help to develop systems that could help the researchers who work with stem cells!
So even when it looks like the science fields are not connected, we can always benefit from each other’s research!

Like Sheila says, I can’t directly do research with stem cells or chronic illnesses because I am not a medical doctor. However, I have tried to help people working in medical research by developing systems that they can use to study illnesses. My undergraduate thesis was all about identifying cancer cells using computer vision, and one of my first jobs out of college involved helping a PhD student to build a web service for diagnosing patients. It’s hard work though and ethically very complex. People who do serious research in that area are amazing.

yes, it is a very relevant topic and I would like to contribute. However, this research is not related to my research field even though I could help scientists studying stem cells with my skills in data analysis.
